ilani is temporarily closed through Monday, May 4th
The Cowlitz Indian Tribe is dedicated to supporting the health and safety of team members, our communities and our neighbors. Like countless others, we have had to make some difficult decisions in recent days and weeks amidst the coronavirus pandemic, including the temporary closure of ilani. Suspending operations at ilani was the right decision and made in cooperation with guidelines from the CDC and local and state authorities. We are committed to doing our part in helping to slow the spread of COVID-19, and therefore, we have agreed to again defer to guidelines from the State of Washington. On Thursday, April 2nd, Governor Jay Inslee extended stay-at-home orders and the closure of non-essential businesses, which means that ilani will extend its closure until Monday, May 4th. We will continually reassess our re-opening date as new information and guidance is released from authorities.
A limited number of team members will remain on site to secure our assets and to operate the Cowlitz Crossing Fuel and Convenience Store which will remain open to the public 24/7 during the stated time. To further support efforts, we continue to offer discounted specials for our quality gasoline and convenience store products. Our goal right now is to support our team members and communities as much as we can during this closure, and our hope is that these drastic measures will help provide the relief needed to contain COVID-19.

Cowlitz Indian Tribe donates $775,000 to Pacific Northwest nonprofits aiding in COVID-19 response
“We are honored to offer our support to those who are most vulnerable to the impacts of COVID-19, from its strain on personal health, to its toll on family finances,” said William Iyall, chairman of the Cowlitz Indian Tribe. “However, this is a bittersweet moment for the Cowlitz Indian Tribe, as these contributions are made possible by the many individuals who have been integral to the success of our casino, ilani, which has temporarily ceased operations as we work to protect our team members and their families, as well as our guests and the community. We are hopeful that by following guidance from health and governmental authorities, we will overcome this crisis together and be able to resume our normal ways of life.”
