Coloso is a dynamic reggae band born from a collective of talented musicians who crossed paths while pursuing their own musical journeys in Vancouver, Washington. Every Coloso show delivers good vibes, island energy, and a dance-ready atmosphere filled with smiling faces and laid-back rhythms. Their music brings a splash of Hawaiian sunshine to every stage, creating the perfect soundtrack for a night of positive energy and connection. Fronted by ukulele player, lead vocalist, and songwriter Kevin Coloso, a Maui native, the band was formed through a shared love of reggae music. The vibrant open mic scene in downtown Vancouver, WA became the meeting ground where Kevin connected with fellow singers, drummers, percussionists, guitarists, pianists, and horn players who shared the same passion for soulful harmonies and infectious grooves. Those spontaneous collaborations eventually grew into a tight musical family known today as Coloso. Over the years, the Coloso lineup has evolved while continuing to grow its sound and reach. The group has released two full-length albums—“This Is the Life” (2016) and “Fortune” (2023)—recorded in Portland, Oregon. Earlier, in 2013, they released a beautifully minimalist EP engineered by Grammy-winning Hawaiian instrumental guitarist Wailau Ryder. Coloso has shared the stage with an impressive lineup of reggae and island music artists including Common Kings, Fortunate Youth, Morgan Heritage, The Wailers, Long Beach Dub Allstars, Fiji, Kolohe Kai, Anuhea, Rebel Souljahs, Sammy J., House of Shem, Clinton Fearon, Sol Seed, and many more.
With uplifting lyrics, island-inspired rhythms, and a rotating crew of talented musicians, Coloso continues to spread good vibes wherever they perform. Follow them on Facebook and Instagram to stay up to date on new music, upcoming shows, and all things Coloso.
